NEET - UG

The full form of NEET is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. India's national-level medical admission test is called NEET. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) instituted it in 2013 to standardize medical entrance exams nationwide. AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) and other state-level exams were replaced by NEET.

Multiple-choice questions make up the NEET format (MCQs). There are a total of 180 questions in the test, of which 90 are from physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology). The duration of the exam is three hours.

The maximum age limit has been eliminated for students sitting the NEET 2024 exam by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared in 2017 that applicants who are not reserved (UR) may only be 25 years old, while those who are reserved may only be 30 years old. The age restriction has been lifted, so applicants may sit for the medical admission exam as many as they'd like—even after enrolling in other classes.

For NEET, the passing rate is 50%. To be eligible for admission, an applicant must receive at least 50% marks. However, candidates who are OBC, SC, or ST are eligible for a 5%-mark relaxation.

Yes, there have been some modifications to the NEET (UG)-2024 syllabus from the previous year. Topics that are no longer included in the most recent NCERT book or taught anywhere in the School Board have been removed. The curriculum has been condensed and rewritten to emphasize key ideas.

NEET exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e., pen and paper mode. The NEET OMR sheet will be supplied to candidates, who will fill it out and have it electronically reviewed.

The only entrance exam used to fill all of the available MBBS and BDS spots in the nation will be NEET 2024. Applicants must take the NEET exam to be admitted to JIPMER and AIIMS. Candidates will be admitted to medical and dentistry colleges based on their NEET scores.

A 15% seat reserve is in place for candidates who are members of the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Scheduled Castes (SC). A clause about horizontal reservations is also included for applicants with disabilities.

Candidates need to dedicate all of their study and practice time to NEET 2024.
